The shirt I ordered from Glenn's Art Studio |
My good friend and fellow spirit group member has created a website to sell his artwork.
On his website he has all kinds of products which feature his artwork like this shirt I ordered earlier this week.
I expect to receive this custom made shirt later this month. When I do receive it I will personally model it on this website.
I am very excited for my friend Glenn because he is so talented in many ways especially his artistic talent.
He created his website as his latest endeavor.
I may have mentioned Glenn before in some of my previous posts but I will give you some background at how I know Glenn.
For many years his late partner Michael Wilson followed my blog. I knew of Glenn but never had any communication with him. Glenn knew of me because whenever I had a new post, Glenn told me Michael would excitedly exclaim "Ron has a new post!" Glenn's not a blog reader then nor is he now. Which is ironic because my two best friends now are Glenn and Pat, both of whom I met through my blog but they didn't and don't read my blog. Both of them have told me the reason they don't read my blog is because they're not "readers" which is perfectly fine with me. You don't have to read my blog to be friends with me. Or to get me "hits" on my blog. As I have often said, writing and posting my blog is my therapy. I don't go to therapists, which again is interesting because another very good friend of mine is a famous and well respected blogger called "Spo" of "Spo Reflections." He does read my blog as he reads many others. But the irony is that Spo is a professional therapist ("head shrink"). Interesting isn't it?
Back to how I know Glenn, that night in January of 2021 when Bill was air lifted to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia with a head trauma wound he suffered from a fall caused by a stroke, I was lost when I came home from work at the hotel from my evening shift at 11:30 PM. I collected my mail and came into my home office, dazed, thinking I would never see Bill alive again. As I looked at my mail, I didn't recognize the handwriting on one of the envelopes. Curious, I opened the envelope to find a small note from Glenn M. saying that his partner Michael had died and he wanted me to know because he knew Michael had like my blog so much. Reading this I was so surprised because I had occasionally wondered why his Michael had stopped leaving comments on my blog for about three years.
After reading about Michael's death, I wanted to reach out to Glenn. I had their phone number from a previous call I had made to thank Michael for a Christmas gift he had sent to me in his and Glenn's name from Harry and David. I called Glenn to thank him for the card and information. I also called because I needed someone to talk to because I was so lost with not knowing what was happening to Bill. Would I ever see him alive again? There was so much I wanted to say to Bill. I couldn't lose him like this without saying a proper "goodbye".
I asked Glenn if he could talk on FaceTime or Zoom. I don't like talking on the phone (I've done so much of that in my life with my jobs including my then hotel job). Glenn said he could do Zoom. Thus we began a wonderful and supportive and mutually beneficial relationship.
I found out that the reason Michael had stopped leaving comments on my blog was because he was very ill. He had a many ailments one of which was blindness (the same as Bill). I was relived in a strange way to hear this because I thought after that "thank you" phone call I made for the Christmas gift, I had said something that offended him. Glenn told me "No, you didn't offend him. He just got very ill." Glenn told me he was Michael's caregiver for the last three years of his life until Michael took a bad fall and died in the hospital. Glenn never had a chance to say "goodbye."
Since that time Glenn and I have talked several times a week and sometimes every day on Zoom. I believe Glenn is in the same spirit group in the AfterLife that Pat and I are in. The three of us are very close now. This past February Pat and I spent part of our annual Palm Springs Modernism Week winter holiday at Glenn's beautiful home in Cathedral City California. Cathedral City is the next city right next to Palm Springs, with home just as palatial but less expensive because of the zip code.
Since I've gotten to know Glenn, I have found out that not only is he a wonderful and supportive friend but a very talented guy. I've seen photos of his landscaping talents as well as his artwork in other mediums. This is his latest endeavor that I am sharing with you.
I know this sounds like an advertisement (and it is of course) but this isn't really about a new "job" for Glenn but rather an outlet for his artistic talents, which are numerous.
