Bill shoveling the driveway…….again |
Usually by this time of the year (early March) the winter pansies are in full bloom and the daffodils are just beginning to bloom. Not this year folks. Everything is under a layer of ice and four inches of snow. Oh no, this is the year of the Winter That Won't Leave.
I haven't been out of the house in the past two days, which is very unusual for me. Usually I have to get out at least once during the day if only to make a run to Food Lion. I'm beginning to get cabin fever. I don't like it. I feel like I'm being smothered.

Thank goodness it's not deep - but there is a layer of ice under this snow - dangerous |
I do tend to get claustrophobic. I'm not one of those who fear elevators but I don't like being holed up in one unit for very long. I don't like the feeling of being crowded either. That's one of the main reasons I moved out of Center City Philadelphia. I felt like I was being smothered.
We moved to East Brandywine Township, on a seven acre wooded lot outside of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. We lived there for twenty-five years until I started to feel smothered again. Even though I love the hills and topography of Pennsylvania I moved to the flat coastal plains of southern Delaware for the space (and low taxes). I'm pretty sure this is where I will end my journey. By the time other retirees start to flood this area I'll be long gone, hopefully.
Okay Spring, let's go.
Actually, I did go out of the house…..to get the mail. I need to get in my car and DRIVE! |
